A Dream Decades in the Making

The story of Cherub Capers Creations began long before our doors opened in 2018. The name itself is a nostalgic tribute to the Christmas newsletters Alesha’s mother wrote about the Churba family's adventures when Alesha was just a young girl.

​

That spirit of storytelling and family heritage stayed with Alesha through the years. While completing her Fashion Merchandising practicum at the Creative Arts Gallery in the late 1980s, a dream took root: to create a space where history, art, and unique treasures could live together. What began as a pop-up shop on Main Street in 2018 found its permanent home in the heart of Historic Downtown Pocatello at 308 West Center Street in 2022.

Meet Alesha E. Churba

​

Alesha is more than just a shop owner; she is a dedicated educator. When she isn’t curating the shop’s eclectic inventory, she serves as a Program Coordinator and Clinical Assistant Professor teaching CADD at Idaho State University’s College of Technology.

​

Her background in academia and her eye for design allow her to bring a unique, professional perspective to the world of antiques. She balances her passion for her students with her love for the "hunt"—constantly seeking out vintage items that offer a "twist" on the traditional.
